Open Mic: Amplifying Your Impact Alongside Federal Government

Join us for an Open Mic conversation on Wednesday, February 24, at 1-2:30PM ET to explore strategies to connect with federal government agency staff members to identify complementary capital, deal-flow, and bridge-building strategies that can attract capital to local communities. Some questions include:
  • What kind of government funds flow to the states that could be complementary to my mission and values?
  • How have foundations coordinated with regional representatives of the agencies to identify opportunities for investment?
  • How can foundations take advantage of the services offered via the federal agencies?
  • How can government identify opportunities for investment or matches needed in order to bring impact dollars to a state?
Open Mics are lightly structured, webcam-enabled calls for MIE members to come together and discuss ideas and opportunities to create impact. Intended to be flexible, Open Mics embody the goal of mobilizing with urgency, employing a simple concept:
  • What ideas, projects, or resources exist within the MIE community — and how can we help each other respond to urgent crises?
  • How can we work quickly to bring together a variety of voices, investment opportunities, and best practices in an action-oriented conversation?
Open Mics are open to MIE members and invited guests. Members, log in for a link to register. If you are not an MIE member and would like to attend or you have challenges accessing registration information, please contact Karla Moreno at [email protected]

This Open Mic is part of an Impact Investing and Public Policy Series, presented in partnership with The U.S. Impact Investing Alliance, Opportunity Finance Network, Urban Institute, U.S. Economic Development Administration, and the Council on Foundations.
