Closing Plenary — Future of Impact Investing: Redefining Investors, Approaches, and Impact

Closing Plenary — Future of Impact Investing: Redefining Investors, Approaches, and Impact | MIE's 2022 National Conference

December 7, 2022
What is the future of impact investing? How is the field evolving and what does that mean for foundations and other philanthropic asset owners? Who are the newer entrants to the field and how do they think about deploying capital?

To explore these critical questions, our 2022 National Conference wraps up with a dynamic closing plenary starting with a virtual fireside chat between U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler and policy expert and philanthropy trustee Cecilia Muñoz. Next, we hear remarks from Wizipan (Wee-zee-pan) Little Elk Garriott, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary – Indian Affairs, U.S. Department of the Interior.

We then turn to a panel discussion moderated by Common Future CEO Rodney Foxworth, featuring Counselor to the U.S. Treasury Secretary on Racial Equity Janis Bowdler, Lafayette Square Founder and CEO Damien Dwin, Builders Initiative President Bruce McNamer, and Cecilia Muñoz. Hope you will join us for this thought-provoking examination of our field and the possibilities that lie ahead. Closing the panel is an exciting conversation between Wes Moore, Governor-elect of Maryland and Kenneth Jones, Senior Vice President and CEO of the MacArthur Foundation.
