The ‘Flip Side’ of Family Separation: What Happens to Migrants and Deportees in Mexico?

Recent events in U.S. immigration policy have driven public attention to the southern border with Mexico. Family separations, same-day deportations, and challenges to due process have major consequences for the lives of thousands of people in both Mexico and the U.S., especially in the San Diego-Tijuana region. Join Philanthropy California and the International Community Foundation to hear from individuals and organizations supporting deportees and migrants in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico through their challenging first days, months, and even years. Some of these organizations are addressing new needs as a result of recent policies; others have been active for years and will speak about those who have been affected by family separation long before this crisis hit headlines.
