Communities of faith have long been impact investing pioneers, with principles derived from faith traditions and communities of practice having paved the way for socially responsible investing. Many faith communities have made socially responsible investing their goal in order to steer clear of investments that conflict with their values. And many are taking the next step of pursuing deep impact through their investments. How do foundations learn from and share a variety of capital types with faith communities and their congregational assets? Join this Open Mic to explore the roles that faith leaders can play: as investors, co-investors, intermediaries, investees and more. The conversation will focus on place-based impact investing ecosystems, the rich history and experience of faith investors, and an example of investment that creates affordable housing opportunities.
