Open Mic #13: Community Foundations Gathering: Integrating Your Impact Investing Program

Join Ann Arbor Community Foundation and your community foundation colleagues for an Open Mic conversation about integration of your impact investing program across the foundation. Open Mics are lightly structured, webcam-enabled calls for MIE members to come together and discuss ideas and opportunities to create impact. Intended to be flexible, Open Mics embody the goal of mobilizing with urgency, employing a simple concept:
  • What ideas, projects, or resources exist within the MIE community — and how can we help each other respond to urgent crises?
  • How can we work quickly to bring together a variety of voices, investment opportunities, and best practices in an action-oriented conversation?
The Open Mic will feature an interactive dicussion covering the following topics:
  • How does your foundation consider the use of capital when it comes to your impact investing program?
  • When do grants play a critical role in building the environment for impact investing and do you consider them a part of the program?
  • What type of integration efforts (staff, investment committee and board) have you made in order to think and act more holistically to bring about the impact you would like to see from your program and our foundation’s efforts as a whole?
Come prepared to participate with video cameras as we delve into the nuances of impact investing in community foundations today. And special thanks to the Ann Arbor Community Foundation for their leadership in prompting this gathering.
