The Changing Landscape of Social Impact Investing

McKinsey alumnus Sir Ronald Cohen recently spoke with McKinsey global managing partner Dominic Barton about how the thinking has changed around raising capital for the benefit of society at large for the video series ‘What happens next.’

Cohen talks about the new and evolving ways capital is allocated to make a social impact. He is optimistic that a fundamental shift is under way and that new business models among companies, government and philanthropy are emerging to tackle serious social issues. He cites Social Impact Bonds as an example. Cohen believes the shift is only going to accelerate because in the future this approach will be considered a key attribute of mainstream leadership.

The video and transcript of the interview can be found on McKinsey's website.
